At some point during your studies you may have IT problems. When this happens the quickest resolution may be found by searching through existing resources and attempting to resolve the issue yourself.
Problems with computer software and applications
If you need help with using Microsoft Office features you can display the help window by pressing the F1 function key on the keyboard, or by clicking the help icon within the application.
Within the Help window, type in a search term, e.g. Page Numbers and click the search button. Microsoft will show a list of related help topics for you to choose from.
Other software also has Help functions that are used in a similar way.
More help can be found if you search the internet for your problem using a search engine such as Google. The best results may come from the companys own website.
Other IT problems
Many common IT issues are documented on the University of Leeds IT website at http://it.leeds.ac.uk. There's a search function to help you locate solutions to your problem.
