IT training is a great way to enhance your existing skills and find ways to work more efficiently. Depending on your learning style you may wish to attend classroom-based courses, or prefer to learn online with tutorials or webinars.
At Leeds University, three of the main providers of IT training are:
- The IT Training Unit - Microsoft Office, researcher courses (see below for more information).
- Staff Departmental Development Unit (SDDU) - VLE, Lecture capture, learning & teaching tools.
- Skills@Library - Endnote, Searching the catalogue, academic skills training.
- Researcher@Library - Research data, Bibliometrics.

IT Training Unit
The IT Training Unit service offers a wide range of courses to suit a variety of needs. Whether you are new to computing, looking to expand your knowledge or simply want to update your computing skills, the IT Training Unit should be your first stop. Here's an overview.
Microsoft Office courses
Core Software application training is delivered by the IT Training Unit. This includes MS Office applications Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Microsoft E- Learning
The IT Training Unit also offer a range of free online courses through the Microsoft Imagine Academy (formerly Microsoft IT Academy), including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), and Visio. Microsoft E-Learning allows you to learn at your own pace, on your own time, with a flexible, interactive and engaging online experience. Microsoft Office Specialist Exams
